The quiet crafty spell

It's been a quiet craft spell while I've been studying. Although I haven't been doing much creating, but have managed to do plenty of creative purchasing! I have sooo much 'stuff'' now, that I have made a pact with myself not to buy anymore unless it is absolutely required (because sometimes you do just have to have it!).
The two canvases below are two of a trio which I have made for the lounge room. This design has come from Debbi Crane as shown in Cloth, Paper, Scissors (issue 28). Debbi's design in the magazine consists of 9 canvases.

This is the little lucky owl mum made at the Perth Craft Fair 2010. This was a great fun little class they we attended together. Lucky owls give the recipient good luck, so mum and I swapped each others. He takes pride of place in my scrapping den xx

Marcia asked me to make a birthday card for her pro boxing hubby, Jae. The request came in a day before she needed it, and this was the result. We were all quite happy with how it came out.

And this is the new fridge, complete with water, ice block and crushed ice dispenser. RRP $3k, we picked it up for $800 from Dean's workmate who is moving interstate. I can finally stockpile food in the fridge and freezer! YAY!

Happy Easter

I am so gratful for this long weekend. Was in desperate need of some 'happy time' which involves not much other than quietness and some crafty activity. It's like Fergy knew this, as he has been on his best behaviour and following me around like a little shadow.
Yesterday I even went to Chez's and bought some material and cotton for my next funky crafty project (an apron)! While I was there I picked up some clear spray lacquer for this afternoon's planned project, a paper necklace. I don't know how far I'll get with it as feeling a little tired from drinks last night at Tan's. Actually, I feel slightly shattered... might be time for a nap...

You & Me

This LO came to me 5am Thursday/Friday morning and I just love it.

Only in Kalgoorlie....

I absolutely love Kalgoorlie. It's a bit like Forrest Gump's mumma's reference to "life being like a box of chocolates, you never know what ya gonna get..."

To get the full reference to the second picture, I will bring you up to speed. You may not have come across Nickalodeon's underwater cartoon character, named Spongebob Squarepants. The picture below is of him. A square sponge, with legs, well.. er.., named Bob.

Well snap Nickalodeon, Kalgoorlie can go you one better.................

Featured in todays Kalgoorlie Miner (our local paper)! Someone had snapped this fair dinkum (I shit you not - it aint staged) snoozing on the main street 'spongebob' on Wednesday and posted in on twitter!

A poster child for Kalgoorlie tourism....? bahaha I can't wait to see the backlash from 'spongebobs' people to this one in next weeks papers.... it's gonna be huge!!!

PS. Haven't done any scrapping for ages - and not likely too for a bit while I focus on my study, work and netball commitments.
Even my Blue Bazaar kit sits untouched :( boohoo
